Announcements for September 30, 2015

Attention Junior Varsity Boys Volleyball Team, today’s practice has been cancelled.

Attention all students, today JT will hold its first Grade War Challenge in support of the Terry Fox Foundation. The student council will be at the front doors to collect donations. The Grade to bring in the most donations will win points, and set them in the lead for the first semester. We ask all students to show their Piper Spirit and donate $1.00 to this worthy cause and to wear a hat.  The run takes place at 11:15 am.

An opportunity for volunteer hours is available.   Big Brothers Big Sisters of Winnipeg will be at JT at noon today, in the front link providing information about the youth in school mentoring program at Buchanan Elementary School. For more information please stop by.

Attention all yearbook photographers, you are encouraged to pick up a camera from Mr. Kutcy at 11:05 this morning for the Terry Fox walk.

Attention all grads, JV boys volleyball team members and Nicaragua fund raisers - Peak of the Market orders will be available for pick up on Thursday, Oct. 1st between 4:00-5:30 out of the Foods and Nutrition room.  If you sold any veggies, you must arrange to pick up your order on Thursday and deliver the veggies to your customers.

Art Club begins tomorrow from 3:30 – 5:00 pm in the Art Room.  See Mrs. Franklin for more information.  Everyone is welcome!

There will be a scheduling meeting of the JT Yearbook photography club tomorrow at noon in room 309.

Attention all Musical Theatre Students:  Auditions for Mary Poppins will be held next week.  Please see Ms. Carter for information and audition times.

Just a reminder that Meet the Teacher takes place today from 5:00 – 6:30 pm.  Parents and students are welcome to attend and join us for pizza and a drink.

Attention all Grade 9 students who made frames at camp yesterday.  It can be picked up in the office at noon from Mrs. Kent today.

Attention all students, if you are interested in taking part in this year's Youth in Philanthropy Committee, an introductory meeting will be held today at 12:10pm in Ms. Paragg's room, room 109.

Students are you interested in earning volunteer hours?  The annual Assiniboia Literacy Book Exchange and BBQ hosted by Jim Rondeau, MLA Assiniboia is coming up on September 26th, 2015. Interested volunteers can come by the office for more information.

The peer support program at teen talk is an exciting volunteer opportunity for teens who are interested in helping others.  Training opportunities will be held this October at Klinic.   If you are interested please pick up a form from Ms. Grant.

A notice to all students…yearbooks for the 2015-2016 school year are now available to purchase online for $20.  Visit our website and click on the School Cash Online banner located on the bottom of our home page.

Student parking is also available to purchase on-line for $20.  There are limited spots available and is on a first come first serve basis.  As well, students parking in scramble parking must park in an identified parking spot and must not park in the no parking area in front of the gym C doors.  This is an emergency exit and must be clear of vehicles.
